Coaching Application

Coaching applications are distributed by coordinators to their coaches and an application form is available online (see below).

All applications for coaching positions must be in by February 15th.

• Under 11 – All Coaching positions open.
• Under 12* to Under 18 –Review current coaches & available positions.
  * at the transition year from U12 to U13, there is more divisions created
  and therefore, more coaching positions will need to be filled.

Coach Selection will be completed by the end of February/early March.

Where there is competition for coaching positions for teams, the Coach Selection Committee consisting of the Club’s Technical Director/Head Coach, and Vice President of Girls or Boys respectively may, if felt necessary, conduct an interview process to discuss and select the Head Coach position only. Final decision is up to Technical Director/Head Coach. Ideally all coaching positions should be filled as early as possible. Coaches of Metro/Select and Gold teams will be selected based on confirmation that their son/daughter is of the level required to compete on the team their parent is coaching. Coaches of Silver, Bronze (boys only), and Red (boys only) teams will be selected based on qualifications, and the level of their son or daughter. Interviews will be scheduled in February for open coaching positions and all decisions made by the end of February/early March.

Coaching Certification Requirements:

Unless determined by the Head Coach/Technical Director, coaches are required to be fully certified at the following levels to be selected as the head coach for a team:

Community Coach Youth - Mandatory for all U11 Coaches in the Association to register and complete the Community Coach Youth course by the end of the U11 season. If the coach is new to the club, they must register for the next course offered through CMFSC.

Community Coach Senior – Mandatory for all Select/Metro & Gold Coaches to have their CCS before September of the U14 Select/Metro/Gold Season. All Coaches in the U14 age group (Silver A and Silver B level) and above need to work towards their CCS License and be completed by the start of the U16 season.

B-Prep: B-Prep: We would like all Select/Metro Coaches aspire to complete the B Prep, B Provincial license and further if they are motivated.

APPLICATION PROCESS

*** please follow every step to ensure the form data is received ***
1. Right mouse click here and select "Save Target As…" to download the application form.
2. Save to your computer (usually your desktop)
3. Close download screen
4. Open the file you just downloaded (coachesapplicationCMFSC.doc)
5. Type into the fields, including the date (note: you can leave the signature spot empty)
6. Save the file (this is important, if you don't save the form it will be received blank!)
7. Email (as a file attachment) to one of the addresses shown below or your Coordinator.
Or you can print out the completed form and return to your Coordinator.

Completed applications must be submitted by February 15 for the following season.
